Why Did Christ Come to This Earth?

            It is one thing to know that Christ was born in a manger, but it is another thing to know why he came to this sin cursed world .Matthew 1:21 gives us the answer when he records what God said to Joseph, “And she (the virgin Mary) shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.”  Millions of people believe that Christ was a great teacher or that He was one of the gods. Many believe that can be appeased like a host of other gods, but they do not know that as Acts 4:12 tells us “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”  Jesus is not one of the gods, but rather He is the only God who can forgive sins.

            So, Jesus was born to save us from sin.   To post postmodern thinkers my strong faith that Jesus Christ is the only true and living God and the only one who can forgive my sins, makes me a bigot.  However my Bible instructs me in Acts 10:43 that “To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.”  Furthermore, my Bible states in 1Timothy 2:5 very clearly, “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”  It also teaches very clearly in Romans 10:13, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
