The LORD is the Musician's Shield

The LORD is the Musician’s Shield.
Psalm 28:7 states, “The LORD is my strength and shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.”
The psalmist here declared that he was helped (azar 5826) or surrounded by the protection of Jehovah the self-existent eternal God who is alive.  In the time of trouble, the musician David was able to receive strength from God.
David was surrounded by the protection of Jehovah.  The Hebrew word magen (4043) which was rendered shield in the AV means a protector and was sometimes referred to the rough tough scaly hide of the crocodile.  The musician David could trust because god had placed a tough protection all the way around him.  David’s enemies could not destroy him because of this thorough protection.
Christian musician, you need to remember that you are surrounded by God’s strength and shield.  God will not allow you to be overcome spiritually and mentally if you stay inside the crocodile’s hide he has provided for you.  If the battle is too tough for you, crawl inside of this rough scaly hide and the enemy of your soul, Satan, will not be able to get to you!
